The default game port is UDP 34197. RCON, if enabled, uses a TCP port – on LOW.MS servers this is typically your game port offset by +5. Both are listed in your Service Settings within the control panel at control.low.ms.
Yes, every player must have exactly the same mods at exactly the same versions as the server. Factorio compares checksums on connect, so even a minor version difference will block the connection. Use the "sync mods with server" option in Factorio's multiplayer menu to automatically download matching versions.
A fresh vanilla world uses about 1GB. A typical mid-game factory with some mods runs 2-4GB. Heavy modpacks with late-game mega-bases can push 6-8GB or more. All LOW.MS Factorio plans include 10GB as a base with upgrades available to 30GB.
UPS drops are caused by factory complexity, not player count. Factorio is primarily single-threaded, so the bottleneck is single-core CPU performance. Reduce active entities (inserters, assemblers, bots), simplify fluid networks, and consider disabling biters if you don't need combat.
A desync occurs when a client's game simulation diverges from the server's. Despite what many people assume, desyncs are NOT caused by network latency or packet loss. They're caused by Factorio bugs, mod bugs that break determinism, or faulty RAM on the client machine. Updating Factorio and testing mods one-by-one are the best first steps.
Yes. Use the File Manager in your control panel at control.low.ms to upload your save file (it'll be a .zip) into the saves/ directory. Then update your server's startup configuration through the Commandline Manager to point at the uploaded save. Make sure the server's Factorio version and mods match your single-player setup.
No. The base game 2.0 update works independently of the DLC. However, if you enable Space Age content on the server (it's treated as a set of mods internally), then all connecting players must also own the DLC. You can run a perfectly good 2.0 server without it.
